Passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2019 in the Brantford General Hospital, at the age of 71. He was born on March 5, 1948 to Harold and Gladys MacLean in Prince Edward Island. Beloved fifty year husband to Trena MacLean (Ryckman). Much loved father to Darcy (Shelli) MacLean, Dennis MacLean (Fabiana Santos) and Patricia (Dennis) Gregorio. Grandfather of eight, Dakota, Dylan, Bailey, Rafaella, Casey, Curtis, Jayda and soon to be Layalee. Brother to Flora McLennen and the late Freman, Dorothy (Sonny) Clow and Darlene (Allison) Waye. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and extended family, friends and neighbours from both here in Ontario and PEI. David owned his own trucking company (TOD Vehicles) and had retired 5 years previously back to PEI, but had moved back to Ontario recently to be close with his immediate family. He never lost his passion for trucking and was always reminiscing about his days behind the wheel. Always so easy to pick up a conversation with strangers and loved sharing stories while enjoying a nice bottle of Labatts Blue. Much thanks to the beautiful nurses and doctors at the BG Hospital who provided Dave with tremendous loving care in his final days and hours. Visitation will take place in the MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, Caledonia, on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 7 - 9p.m. followed by the service in the chapel on Thursday, June 6 at 11a.m. Interment in Caledonia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation to the ALS Society.
