To send flowers in memory of William Francis "Bill" Lutes, please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
It is with great sadness that we announce Bill’s passing in his 72nd year, peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital in Dunnville after a courageous battle with cancer. Cherished husband of Bernadine (Tompkins), devoted father of Sherry (Jim) and Rob (Holly), loving Papa of David (Selena), Daniel, Kolby and Ridley, caring uncle of Doug, Michelle, Jacqueline, Tracey, John and Andrew, loving brother of his twin Ed (Barb) and Carol (Claude) of New Brunswick. Bill is predeceased by his mother and father. Bill will also be dearly missed by other special family members Pam (Bill) Wiebe and Bonnie Seaith. Bill thought very highly of Bernadine’s family and he will be sadly missed by them and he will be forever remembered by his long time friends Bill, Fred, and Don from his service time in the Royal New Brunswick Regiment and their regular weekly FaceTime chats. Bill made many friends during his 30+ years of volunteering in several positions in Five Pin Bowling, which attributed to his induction recently into the Niagara 5 Pin Bowlers Hall of Fame as a Builder. Bill was a Master Bowler in both the teaching and senior divisions of the Master Bowlers’ Association of Ontario for over 30 years. He just recently completed 15 years as a volunteer for the Halidmand Special Olympics where he shared his passion for the game once more along with his great friend Nancy. Following Bill’s retirement from Eaton Yale in Hamilton, he volunteered as well for several years as a Cancer Volunteer Driver for the Niagara Region. A heart felt thank you goes out to the caring Nurses and Doctors of the HWM Hospital. Visitation will take place in the MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, Cayuga on Monday, April 15, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with prayers at 3:45. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church in Cayuga at 11a.m on Tuesday April 16. A private family Internment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Haldimand Special Olympics or the Canadian Cancer Society.
