Obituary for William Stoneman
STONEMAN, William Paul
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of William Paul Stoneman on December 26, 2017 at the Grandview Lodge, Dunnville, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years Germaine along with their children Paula and Darel, Kevin and Marjorie and Lisa and Bruce. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Anne this past May. Paul was the beloved Papa of his grandchildren Dana and Trevor, Jamie and Katie, Jacob, Cole and Natalie, Emily, Paul and Sarah . He is survived by his two sisters Monica and Frances of Jarvis along with their families. He was very proud of his many Stoneman/Montague nieces and nephews and all their families. Paul was born on his family farm where he lived and worked for many years raising his family. He retired from Stelco in 1988. He was a life long parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Caledonia for many years and was an Honorary Life Member in the 4th Degree with the Knights of Columbus, a member of St. Patrick’s Cemetery Board and a member of the OFA. He enjoyed his farming life, entertaining around the pool, euchre parties and the many hayrides and barbecues that they hosted on the family farm. He enjoyed travelling with his family down East every summer and his fall trips with Germaine down south. He will be sadly missed ! We thank all the staff at Grandview Lodge, Creekview, for the great care and compassion shown to Paul over the last few months . Visitation will take place in the Miller Funeral Chapel, Caledonia, on Monday, January 1, 2018 from 2 - 5pm. The Knights of Columbus will honour Paul at 4:30 pm with a prayer service. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 2 p.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, Caledonia. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Luncheon to follow in St. Patrick’s Church lower level. Donations to the St.Patrick's
Church Building Fund, Alzheimer's Society of Haldimand Norfolk or the Grandview Lodge Resident’s Council would be appreciated by the family.
Rest in Peace !
