Obituary for Richard "Dick" Bristo
A hero on earth, an angel in heaven - Richard "Dick" Bristo passed peacefully on September 27th at Steadman Hospice in Brantford Ontario. He was an amazing son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He was a quiet man that never needed much, his family meant everything to him. He was the second oldest of 8 brothers, and he kept the family together, he was the foundation of the family. He started later in life than most, marrying at 55. He became a Husband, Father, and Grandfather in 1991. A grandfather of 5, he was there for every soccer game, every event, he wanted to be there for everything. A father of 2, he was a shining example of what it meant to be a Dad. You could go to him for anything and he wouldn't judge. Everyone went to him for advice, he was a wise man. There were few things he wanted, his races - Dale Earnhardt Sr. was his hero -, his Dick Francis novels (you never saw him without one), and a game of pool. You could always find him at Wiggies. He was there for everyone, he was just always there. He got out what he put in. He died in the garden with his wife by his side, just as he wanted.
